Exhibition Walk-Through

An audio walk-through of Birds, a two-person exhibition bringing together works by Bethan Huws and Andrea Büttner, collaboratively presented by Hollybush Gardens and Galerie Tschudi, Zuoz/Zurich, for Condo London 2026. 

This event took place on 17 January, and was led by Huws and Malin Ståhl on the occasion of the exhibition’s opening.

The title of the show refers to the birds that recur throughout works by both artists – and also the use of ‘bird’ as a slang term for women in English. A new ‘word vitrine’ by Huws responds to Sigmund Freud’s question ‘What does the woman want?’, while Büttner’s Fountains (2011) is a sculpture in the form of an enlarged pair of breasts. The show explores the research-based nature of the artists’ practices, their shared and long-standing interest in Marcel Duchamp, the history and legacy of Conceptual art and the readymade, appropriation, and linguistics.
