Knut Henrik Henriksen

16 – 26 July 2025

Eyeliner (2011–) is a site-responsive pastel drawing; an architectonic intervention that is at once subtle and grandiose. With the simple gesture of drawing a line in a colour used in makeup, Knut Henrik Henriksen brings the viewer’s attention to the features of the gallery. Eyeliner is related to a larger body of work Henriksen has developed around ideas of ‘architectural doubt’ and ‘architectural frustration’ where the artist visualises the historical changes a building has undergone and the doubt that accompanies these transformations. Buildings previously re-articulated via ‘architectural doubts’ include Hamburger Bahnhof, Berlin, Kunstmuseum Bern and Villa Savoye by Le Corbusier.
